Much to our surprise, Avery was born 6 1/2 weeks early on Tuesday, August 19th at 3:25pm. I woke up early Tuesday morning at 4:30 for the usual tip to the bathroom and noticed blood. I woke Carl up and called the doctor. We went to the hospital to get checked out and when I walked through the front door of the hospital, my water broke. They tried to stop my labor, but no luck and before we knew it I was 10cm and Avery was born. She came out pink and crying which was the best sound in the world!! I didnt get to hold her - the NICU team wisked her away to the warmer and checked her over. She needed some oxygen and quickly went to the NICU. We were so surprised that she was nearly 5 pounds! Her offical weight was 4lbs 13.4oz. Sunday, August 24, 2008
Welcome Baby Avery

Wow welcome to the world Avery. What a beautiful name I may add, that was one that was on my list as well!!!!!! I am so thrilled for you Desiree and your family - I know what a terrific gift your new baby girl is to you after the great loss of your angel Conner. I know Conner will watch over her and you and your family. A precious blessing baby Avery is, a heavenly gift that will forever bring you happiness. Again I am so happy for you all. Our Conners sent sweet little sisters down to us, and I will forever be thankful that they are here for our family and yours !! Congrats to you all.
